This Seattle-based ensemble performs the spirited and percussive music of the Andes using native instruments including incan flutes and panpipes, native drums and the guitar-like charango.
Amauta blends indigenous elements and rhythms from Latin-America, creating sounds that revilalize, preserve, and develop the musical culture of the Americas. These outstanding musicians were drawn together by a love of this ethnic music, and have honored the highlands of their new home on their recordings "Dream of Mount Saint Helens," and "A Mi Tierra."
For the past eleven years, the group has pleased many crowds with their lively performances at numerous festivals, schools, and corporate events throughout Washington State and Oregon.
